Acceleration
ACCELERATION
The recent years have seen a rapid development of methods supporting the orthodontic treatment, that both accelerate the moving of teeth under orthodontic force and allow greater movements while at the same time protecting the periodontal tissues. These methods can be divided into surgical (e.g. piezosurgical corticotomy) and non-surgical ones (vibrations, light). The acceleration effect is obtained through accelerating metabolism in tissues that surround teeth.
